Perennial. Wonderful salad herb and spinach substitute. Has finer leaves than Common Sorrel. Excellent eaten raw as a salad. Can be prepared with hardly any vinegar or lemon juice as the leaves themselves are somewhat sour in taste. Also goes well in soups, sauces and as spinach. Harvest as many young leaves as possible. Constantly remove the floral stalks to keep the leaves young. Common Sorrel already germinates at low temperatures. Grows best in the semi-shade. Beautiful ornamental leaves.
