Greek Oregano, Orus ganus in Latin, meaning Joy of the mountain, is the name that we give to our native Winter Marjoram. This plant from the Greek mountains is a herb that prefers dry, calcareous and sunny spots. Has a mild, yet pleasantly spicy aroma. The herb is used in the preparation of sausages, but is also excellent with, for example, haricot beans, potato dishes, sauerkraut, minced meat and tomato sauce. Best to sow in a greenhouse. Press seeds lightly, then later prick out and transplant.
